Happy Halloween!!!
What did everyone do on Halloween night? We don't get any TOTers (trick-or-treaters) so we went to Rose and Dave's house. We have been going there for the last few years. We have a special Halloween dinner and then hand out candy. Every year my mom makes a few Halloween themed food items. This year she made mashed potato ghosts. Normally she also makes devilled eggs that look like eyeballs but we finally decided we liked the way normal devilled eggs taste better. This year Virleni made normal devilled eggs and we garnished them with my radish eyeballs. Instead of my mom's sloppy joe that she normally makes Rose made pulled barbecue beef. It was quite tasty.
It seemed like we got more teenagers than small children. I wonder if that is because there are more activities offered for children at malls, schools, community centers, etc. I may be old fashioned but I plan to take my children trick-or-treating on Halloween night. I don't think anyone should miss out on that!

i had class till 8ish (he actually let us out early! wooo hooo!) so i missed most of the kids who may or may not have come for candy. i, too, miss seeing all the kids in costumes. we only got two kids, well, teens. one said he was a priest, but he looked more like a ninja.
I think that is now one of my favorite quote, "One said he was a priest, but he looked more like a ninja." How funny is that! One of the many reasons to love Halloween!
LOL - Melinda. that is a good quote. we had LOTS of kids. People were even dropping them off on our street. we had a good time, with pizza and lemon drops, (not the candy!), and my sister and bro-in-law came over. we all complained when the kids bigger than me came to the door, but i reminded Paula that we t-or-t'ed till we were 14 or 15.
Dena I am sure if you put on a Harry Potter costume like you were going to a few years ago you would get away with TOTing still because you would be so darn cute!
